Doctors at Embu Level 5 Hospital will on Friday carry out the first kidney transplant in the county.
Governor Martin Wambora on Tuesday said surgeons were ready for the medical milestone.
Wambora said the patient has been undergoing dialysis for weeks after his kidneys failed.
