In a move to increase access to quality and affordable health services, Equity Afia has opened its 12th satellite clinic within Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).

Located on Laxmi Plaza, along Biashara Street, the new clinic targets individuals and corporates located within the CBD and the business community living and serving within Nairobi and its environs.

So far, the Equity Afia clinics have served 154,137 patients since the program was launched by Equity Group Foundation in 2015.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, Equity Group Foundation Executive Director Reuben Mbindu said the Franchise was on track in its growth strategy.

“Equity Afia is committed to championing affordable access to healthcare in Kenya, enabling people to lead productive lives. We have standardized our services across all our clinics to ensure Kenyans have the same quality experience,” said Mbindu.

The franchises are now in Nakuru, Ongata Rongai, Nyeri, Nairobi CBD, Thika, Buru Buru, Kayole, Kawangware, Kahawa West, Kikuyu and Utawala.

The clinics are National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) accredited, allowing both the employed and the self-employed to access medical outpatient treatment under the national cover as stipulated by NHIF’s outpatient benefit scheme.

The clinics have also partnered with various insurance service providers in Kenya allowing acceptability across diverse consumers, businesses and communities.

Speaking on behalf of the Health Permanent Secretary Susan Mochache, Manasseh Bocha, Chief Clinical Officer in the Ministry of Health said Kenya has made remarkable progress in Universal Health Coverage as a result of collaboration from stakeholders within the health sector, and urged other stakeholders to adopt cost effective health models that increase access to quality services.
