Medical doctors in Nyamira County have issued a 14-day strike notice to compel the county government to implement a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) signed in 2017.
Through Nyanza branch, Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union (KMPDU) secretary Lameck Omweri, they said the county has failed to promote doctors as per the agreement and place them on their rightful job groups.
Speaking in Kisii yesterday, the secretary noted the county had failed to pay withheld salaries for some doctors since 2018, adding it had demoralised them.
“The county has reneged on its commitment and has continued taking us in circus by being insincere and deceitful,” Omweri said.
