The Health NGOs Network (HENNET) has decisively reinforced its reputation as a crucial force driving health transformation in Kenya, recently scooping a prestigious national NGO award that recognize its outstanding leadership and sector-wide impact.
HENNET won the coveted NGO Partnership of the Year Award.
According to Dr Margaret Lubaale Executive Director Hennet the recognition specifically celebrates the network’s exemplary collaboration with the national government in strengthening Primary Health Care systems across the country, highlighting its laudable capacity to mobilize diverse partners and champion coordinated action necessary for achieving Universal Health Coverage.
Dr. Lubaale affirmed that, through strategic engagement with the Ministry of Health, the network has been instrumental in implementing vital health programs, conducting essential research, and promoting rigorous evidence-based advocacy.
Established in 2005, HENNET functions as a powerful collective, uniting over 120 member organizations under a shared mission to advance equitable and quality healthcare access for all Kenyans.
The network’s infrastructure connects grassroots health promoters, national referral facilities, effectively ensuring continuity of care and fostering comprehensive collaboration across all 47 counties.
Significantly, HENNET’s work extends beyond simple service delivery, targeting remote and hardship areas with the overarching vision of building a healthy, empowered, and resilient Kenya.
