First Lady Margaret Kenyatta will tomorrowlaunch the Integrated Medical Safaris, an initiative aimed at contributing towards the achievement of the Universal Healthcare Coverage.
The launch of the Integrated Medical Safaris at Narok Stadium, is part of the First Lady’s Beyond Zero second Strategic Framework (2018-2022) anchored on the principle of leaving no one behind and adopts a life-cycle approach.
The three-day medical safari will include the identification of women and girls who require treatment for obstetric fistula, including their re-integration into their communities, registration and assessment of children with intellectual impairment, enrolment of pregnant women into the Linda Mama NHIF programme, eye care for elderly persons, screening of cancers including provision of routine services such as immunisation, HIV testing and counselling.
Integrated medical safari is in collaboration with county governments to enhance synergy towards universal healthcare and catalyse actions towards strategic partnerships across counties, communities, private sector and other government agencies.
