Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Mr. Harry Kimtai, led the Launch and Presentation of Digitization Devices in Embu County, marking a major milestone in the county’s Taifa Care implementation. Embu is the second county in Kenya to integrate digital healthcare solutions.
He was joined by Embu County Deputy Governor H.E. Kinyua Mugo, Hon. Moses Kuria, Senior Advisor at the Council of Economic Advisors, State House, Mr. Daniel Mwai, Dr. Thuranira Kaugiria, Acting CEO of the Digital Health Agency Anthony Lenaiyara, and Acting CEO of SHA Robert Ingasira.
PS Kimtai reaffirmed that the Social Health Authority (SHA) is fully operational and emphasized the importance of adherence to guidelines, highlighting improvements in the benefits package and revenue collection.
The event focused on the rollout of the Health Management Information System (HMIS) and the establishment of a human resource health record system for Embu County, aimed at streamlining healthcare workforce management and enhancing service delivery.
This engagement reinforced the Ministry’s commitment to digital transformation in public healthcare, ensuring better coordination of resources, efficient management of medical supplies, and improved patient care.
