Kenya’s leading hygiene brand-Dettol- hosted an informative masterclass session in Nairobi to educate attendees on the science behind healthy, glowing skin and the benefits of its newly reformulated Dettol Skincare soap.
According to Reckitt Country Manager Asif Hashimi, the company continuously innovate and enhance its products to maintain a top position in the market in terms of quality.
“Dettol Skincare takes skincare to a completely different level as part of that innovation,”Hashimi said.
The event featured dermatologists, beauty educators, influencers and enthusiasts. Through a masterclass session themed ‘Nurturing Your Skin: The Power of Moisturization,’
Fidelia Mwende Nguli, a skin care and beauty expert, said that “Dry skin can bring on signs of aging very quickly, such as wrinkles and fine lines, making someone look older than they are. Well-moisturized skin gives a natural glow, eliminating the need for extensive makeup.”
Dr Tauhida Mbarak, a skin aesthetician, emphasized that poor diet significantly contributes to the development of dry skin. “Some people go eight or nine hours a day without drinking water and consume a lot of junk food, neglecting a balanced diet that includes greens and fruits.
He added that, using poor-quality cosmetics, which often flood the black market with high levels of hydroquinone and mercury, damages melanocytes – the skin cells responsible for colour. “This can cause the skin to swell and wrinkle, making a 20-year-old look like they are 56.”
According to Dr Tauhida Mbarak, with its high level of moisturization, Dettol Skincare soap keeps the skin beautifully hydrated and healthy while protecting it 99.9 percent from diseases causing germs and bacteria
Dr Tauhida Mbarak added that, “we always advise our clients to use products that are effective for their skin types. As a formulator, I have reviewed the ingredients and I am impressed by Dettol because it contains glycerin which is a gold standard moisturizing agent.”
